Back in the day when EA games started in Redwood City, a bunch of my friends would test games for them. And they would pull long hours too. Sounds pretty cool to do. Wish I had time.

I work in a videogame company - and for the last month a group of testers has been in testing out our newest creation - and i must say they are the nerdiest, stinkiest, unhappiest group of uber-nerds ever. You have to pull crazy long hours, and argue with some idiot who will never have what it takes to get into the real business about who would win in a theoretical fight - gandalf v.s. a super veritech for 11 hours.

it's much rougher of a job than you could imagine, but if you are tired of serving asshats coffee, its certainly an interesting change.

videogame testing is a great way to suck the fun out of playing games.

Hahaha Robotech. It's a VALKYRIE (Macross) YOU DOLTS!

I have friends who do quality assurance for Konami and EA. Yea, their jobs suck the life outta them. They mostly play games that have nothing to do with the companies they work at since it's a bit of a kill joy to own or play games in your spare time that you've worked on for 50 hours. I had a friend who QA'd for Namco and was working on Tekken 5. Let's just say that he doesn't wanna see the game anymore.
