I know, I used to live in New Orleans. In fact, go buy an AR-15 while you're at it.

Haha. Yeah go build yourself a nice sniper hide and start picking off the looters.

You have to fall for a bit for the air to grab onto the chut and open it properly

you should get one of those flying squirrel jumpsuits, as seen in MI:3

Try jumping out the window with an umbrella instead. Open it up as you fall. It seems to work in cartoons.

Just remember folk, don't build your kit for single use, think broad term. Include things for biological attacks, chemical spills and such.

Also consider, are you going to SIP (Shelter in place) or are you going to BO (bug out), and build your kit as such.

As I said in the BOB thread, I have SIP kits AND BOB kits set up depending on if I have to get out or stay. I also have plans to hide/destroy my SIP kit so looters wont get anything if I leave it behind.

Depends on how you build it. I have put in a water purifier, I carry ammo, food and medical for 3 people and 2 dogs, I bought packs for the dogs to carry extra stuff (ammo and gear).

I would say my full BOB is $1200 or so of equipment. You don't have to go that hard core, but remember I have to support 3 people plus the dogs, and I plan for a full 7 days between points of food/water.
