SO i cleaned the seats this morning. i am glad my wife and i bought the carpet cleaner with upholstery attachment. i took the pics last night and i had to clean that **** this morning, it was just making me mad looking at it, and i didnt want it to stain or mess anything else up further.

Thanks, sigma, i wish i woulda known about the watch Sgt. I was just so dumbfounded by everything going on i wasnt thinkng clearly. i was mainly trying to keep a cool head so i didnt beat that dudes *** and end up in trouble myself.

If i get any resolution today i will let yalls know.

NO THATS THE WORST PART ABOUT THE WHOLE THING.

The Crawl is about 1.5 miles away from SSU. You used to be able to walk to the bars fromt he college.

Now If you get caught walking down the street drunk they are giving people drunk in publics.

What is even more bull**** is yellow cab isnt allowed to come to cotati and pick people up, only RP cotati cab company is allowed to. and it ends up being almost 10 bucks for a ride to the college after sitting at all of the lights.

SO they dont want you drinking and driving, and they dont want you walking home drunk

I think they have a deal with Cotati Taxi and get a cut of what the taxi company makes, cuz unless someone stays sober you have to take one of those cabs.

Anyway point being all i saw the cops do is Hopefully take his info, and told his friends they should probably take him home. the fact that they will give anyone who has never even had a speeding ticket a drunk in public for walking home cuz they dont wanna pay 10 bucks for a cab, but they wont arrest the dude that throws a ****ing soda bottle into my car just blows my ****ing mind... i just cant wrap my head around it.

as far as i know, no they didnt arrest him just sent him home with his friends who were probably drunk and drove home... Cotati PD FTMFL!!!!

Should`ve punch him in the jaw and later if the officer asked why you hit him you could say, "because he`s gay".

dude, pay your ticket (to look like a good, upstanding citizen) and file a report with the PD that the officer ignored someone that was a more immediate danger to himself and others than tinted windows.

Unfortunately it is common sense.

DIP is a lot more paperwork than a fix it ticket.

In the long run DIP arrests will reduce drunks in public, therefore making it seem like a better place for people in neighboring areas to come to for a nice dinner out, therefore increasing revenue for the city and its businesses.

That makes the DIP arrest seem like common sense to me.

That is just absurd nothing happened to the guy. He should have been arrested & held in detox & had to pay for the professional cleaning of the car. Do you have his information? I'd take him to small claims just to prove a point. People wonder why we don't respect the majority of police officers out there.

Or on the flip side make it a place people don't go and drink at. Less drinking means less eating. Less parking tickets. Less tickets. Less money.

Gotta pick your battles. It's not easy to be a LEO in places like that. I used to work security at molly's and Castro is the same way. Lots of bars and restaurants. Lots of drunk asses. The LEO's have to choose their battles. Some times they choose wrong... thus meaning they're human.

On a smaller level as security we had to do the same thing. Might leave one guy that's totally hammered alone (make sure they get a cab) and give attention to someone else that's less drunk but clearly as the chance to get violent.

This case I feel was handled poorly. Win some. Loose some.

I dunno, isn't that the reason the drunk used to justify throwing crap at his car? because it was "gay" ?

True, but I think less drunks in public is a better message to send about your community. I agree though, there are always going to be battles to choose between, and there will always be someone saying to picked the wrong one.

that sucks so bad, cop should have takin a little pitty on you for your situation, and also its crazy that they let that drunk *** go. I would through his *** in a cell overnight to sober up and then charged him with drunk in public and damaging private property if I was the cop. sorry to hear about that situation man.
