It's deer season again. Almost took down a 10 point buck last night. If that bad boy had jumped out at least I'd have something to mount on my wall.

That's a great feeling.
I do that at least 4-5 nights per week. I work evening shift. By the time to go home (20-25min drive), it's arround 1 am. People drive really fast during this time. Some crazy people race on highway. Usually, slow cars. Easier to spotted by the police due to no traffic. But you are right, most of time it's a blast to drive since there is no traffic. But when I get to my residential area, I almost crawl and all music off. Try not to wake up next doors.

Left my house @ 5:30am for Long Beach, made it in under 6hours.
It was dark when I left, watching the sun come up was pretty cool.
Glad I wore shorts, its hot down here!

Not to shabby.

I used to make so cal runs all the time. Had some scary runs in the middle of the night. Nearly rear ended a CHP once in the middle of a 100-140mph for at least 30 minutes run. More like an hour probably. Slowed to change a CD and let the cars that were running with me keep going. I looked up and saw nothing but dust... then tail lights a few feet from my bumper. Smashed on the brakes. He nailed them all. I just cruised by a 75 saying my thank you prayers.

I prefer late night runs when doing I-5 but a good radar detector is a must.

Thank you sir. If only more people were more considerate. Nothing worse than some moron with his windows down, system blaring annoyingly loud and people yelling and being obnixious right in front of your house. OR anywhere, for that matter.

Try 101 from the Bay down to SB. I used to do that when I was going to UC. The stretch from King City to Paso Robles, maybe SLO is almost always DEAD at night. Curvy, straight, hilly, level, high speed, lower speeds, almost everything. Just make sure you're awake and you've got your radar detector on full alert.

Word. I used to make that drive all the time. My wife is from paso originally and her older brother lived in Morro Bay until recently and tattoo'd in Pismo.

We'd go down frequently. I liked when the wife fell asleep.

41 and 46 are nice heading south too.

You want to have fun drive to coalinga from gilroy.

haha when I read the title, I was thinking "I do this to go to and from work" and it sucks having to drive 30 miles back home after working 12 hour night shifts.
but I guess you meant something else.

I love driving to work on weekend days shifts 6am and still no cars on the road, even better when the sun is not yet up haha

I know exactly what you mean. Sometime I have to pull a long shift, which makes me to work through the night. One eye half-way open and slaping myself on the face during my 30 mins drive back home.

And when I reach my home in the morning, I'm like

Definitely. I used to work closing shifts at my work, but not anymore, and I would be driving home late at night. I would just cruise the freeway at 55mph.

Yeah 101 can be a fun drive, cept for getting tagged in Paso Robles for speeding. That was my first ticket in '96.
Never need to exceed 100mph unless I'm straight up code3 these days.
I wanted to go for a canyon run but can't sleep in cuz Verizon screwed up and I have to deal with them early in the AM. Its also randomly/errily foggy here by my hotel.
Hoping to leave LA by 6pm and be back in Pleasanton for a party by midnight.
