It seems lot a lot of people are paying a lot of attention to the below facts; the RAV4 had light intake/exhaust mods as well as much lighter wheel/tire package. In completely stock form it runs a full second slower.

Car magazines are also tend to launch the effing ish out of the car to get the best results, so 14.9 isn't that impressive if that's the best they got.

So, I highly doubt that all the soccer moms who will end up buying these will be immediately running to Wheel Works for light weight racing wheels, modifying them or start experimenting with traction control/brake standing/revving to get a perfect launch at the red lights.

So, stage 2 or even stock Subarus shouldn't really be loosing any sleep.
Engine/Power Modifications: Weapon R Intake (Modified to be cold-air) with S&B air filter, Dynomax Ultraflow SS muffler (All stock piping)
Suspension Modifications: Enkei (16X7) on General Grabbers (215/60-16)

Motorweek ran a 14.9 in a Road test in the RAV4. The intake and exhaust did their job but I never mentioned anything about the wheel/tire setup. They are not pretty or anything but the 2010 RAV4's come with 18" runflat wheel/tires stock. The Enkei wheel/tire combo weighed 36lbs total while the runflats and wheel where 63lbs a piece total (27lbs per wheel weight savings, per wheel). This added up quickly and saved 108lbs in rotational wheel weight and knocked off .3 - .4 in the 1/4 mile.

I would love to see subaru put twin turbos on the 3.0 6cyl motor thats in the tribeca, drop that with a 6 speed into a forester body, and call it the new forester STI
Umm, that would be impossible for them, Overbear.

The Tribeca has a 3.6 liter H-6 motor installed, not the 3.0 liter motor. That happened in 2008. I'm not sure that I'd want a twin-turbo setup unless I were working with the 3.3 motor of the Subaru SVX, which has dual-throttle bodies.

My mom has a 05Outback LLbean edition.... that 3.0L hauls the mail like no-one buisness.... seriously that motor doesn't need turbos.

My parents have a 1-2 year old rav4 "limited" and I do have to say, they are pretty quick for a car like that. I haven't driven any of the brand new rav4s though. I just started to work at toyota though so I'm sure i will at some point :D

Great so Toyota eliminates the Supra, MR2 and Celica to make room for a fast RAV4? :dizzy:

slow04wrx 07-15-2010 10:39 AM

not impressive unless the things stock.

This information is useless because it was a race in a straight line. Who gives a **** about a straight effing line!?
