I'm meeting someone up tonight to buy a phone. This will be my first "meet" to buy something. What should I be cautious of?

I'm bringing a couple of friends along just in case.

 

I've done stuff like this on CL at least a dozen times - never had a problem. I usually try to do it in a mall or grocery store entrance or something so there are people around. Unless its an i-club thing, where I am more likely tpo trust people.

You're probably going to scare the guy with all your friends haha. I do craigslist meets all the time. Nothing to really worry about, although I don't do electronics because I don't know if they've been fiddled with. Just use common sense and you'll be fine.

for some strange reason, i think buying honda parts from someone would be waayy more scary than buying subaru parts

In case any of you were wondering, the meet went fine.

 

Just be in a place where there's plenty of other people around. and of course, don't give/show him the money before seeing the phone.

i got a lot of people doing business via CL at my starbucks.

I think lots of people do that at most starbucks. I know my husband and I do heh.
