Doghouse fired by 94.9!!
Its been about a couple weeks and i was just curious what happened to the Doghouse..i had heard that they had some beef with band which got them suspended, but thought they would be back on air again by now, guess not
...past couple years i havent listened to them that much due to JV's spiritual awakening which pretty much engulfed all the airtime, but listening to the Doghouse while driving to work in the morning helped deal with the damn 880 N traffic...here's what i found out from cruising the clubrsx boards (yea yea i know, my gf's bro had a rsx until last week, so wanted to see the pics he took of the car)....
Here is the latest info:
In the wake of a controversy over lewd comments and pranks, radio station KYLD (Wild 94.9) banished morning disc jockeys "Elvis" and "JV" and producer "Hollywood." The station is owned by San Antonio-based Clear Channel Communications.
"The Doghouse will no longer air on Wild 94.9," Clear Channel regional vice president for programming Dennis Martinez said in a statement. "Our programming decisions are based on extensive local audience research and feedback from our listeners."
Reached by telephone, Martinez declined to elaborate. He said no decision had been made on replacement programming. KYLD is targeted at 12- to 24-year- olds.
Robert Eatman, a lawyer who represents the DJs, said they were terminated "without cause and without discussion. The station is changing format. We have a valid agreement through the end of the year, and we intend to pursue all legal options to enforce it."
Elvis and JV received a one-day suspension without pay last week, after an appearance by the San Francisco Renegades Drum and Bugle Corps. A color guard performer complained about offensive comments the DJs made both on-air and off.
Clear Channel owns about 1,200 radio stations across the country. Last year the company announced a "zero tolerance" policy for broadcast indecency. Clear Channel made its most public affirmation of the policy by suspending popular shock jock Howard Stern
....wonder where they will go to next, if ne where

the doghouse was funny but music in the morning is better then a talk show.
atleast now 106.1 isn't the only place I can hear music in the morning on my way to work

Yeah, doghouse pranks were OK but I agree with Zoeb. It got annoying. I usually switch between 94.9, 106.1, and 102.5 for music, but only 106.1 plays music so you really have no selection in the mornings.

Wow, last time I listened to the dog house was 4 years ago. The prank calls were pretty funny. Now when I get up in the morning I need to blast Tiesto to wake up!

yep i mostly just listen to 106.1 on my way to class and if there isn't anything good on then ill listen to stern's show. usually 106.1 most of the time anyways since they play alot of bay area stuff.
yawn...
first, the 12 noon mix is down to around 20 minutes. WTF is that about?
now that 92.7 is back (alex, you find this yet?????) to it's old music format of dance tunes, wild 949 is loosing it's edge.
guess that's what CC will do for you.
me? xm and sirius...

every good thing must come to an end.
they probably need to try another channel that is less strict.
mainstream radio is going downhill anyways.
