Does it come down to this?
It's funny, although it is true. I just heard that it's $3.56 for regular in Oahu.

Our gas prices were tied to Asian markets with no relation to the US mainland market until the gas cap went into effect on Sept 1st, tying the markets together based on averages of a few key mainland cities. Our gas went up nearly a dollar in some places (I saw $4.22/gal for 92oct in Waimea) and now have settled back down to around the 3.29 or so I paid yesterday.
I was in Baltimore a few weeks back and one spot had gas for $6/gal!!! They've got a cap now. Can't be more than $5/gal. Sucks and I might be moving there in a year or so...

I remember back when a few gas stations had $.99 days for regular...
