Angry Dodge Dealership!!

Last night my friend's 5.0 mustang got stolen. He has been pretty bummed out all day about it, so to help cheer him up we decided to go to the dealership to look at new cars. We went to Automall to look at the new cars. Since the Dodge/Chrysler dealership was the first dealership, we decided to look at what they had. We sat in a new crossfire and surprisingly it was really nice. Anyways there was a young saleman helping us and showed us around. He went inside and brought out a busines card and asked my friend if he liked the Srt-4? My friend responded, "Its a neon." Then this older salesman( late 30s) comes out and the young man helping us referred to this guy as the "Pro." He then asked the "Pro" if the Srt-4 was a neon. What a f*cking retard, he doesn't even know if the Srt-4 is a neon! Anyways, the "Pro" then said "yes its a neon, a 2.4L turbo charged, 230hp neon." Then he proceeded to tell us that you can drop a stage 3 turbo in an Srt-4 and get 300whp and still keep the warranty. I then said that the dealership would have to put it in then to keep the warranty, he said no, I could put it in and still keep the warranty. BS! I then said to him, "Yeah, but it's still a neon." He then said, pointing at my car, "its still a subaru!" I then responded, "yeah, but I like my subaru better." He then asked me, "wanna race." I said "what?" He said, "Lets race" I said, "Sure, in the snow, rally course" He then said, "Lets drag race infront of the dealership." I told him, "No, I can't race, I want to become a cop." Then as I was leaving, he said "what do you call that car, a boo boo" I just drove away. I can't believe that he would ask me to illegally street race!? I was so pissed off as I left! How inappropiate was it for him to first off, make fun of the car that I was driving and then want me race him. Tomorrow I'm going to call up Dodge Corporate and lodge a formal complaint. Then I'm going to Fremont Police Department to let them know. Sorry for the long post, I really need to vent!

holy crap, that's insane! Seriously man, stories like these...my respect for car salesmen drops everyday. I can't believe how unprofessional this "pro" is.

Frank @ Livermore Subaru, now that's a pro salesman. His friggin' wall is lined with thank you cards, haha.

i owned a 92 5.0 - i share your fathers pain.
i have 2 subarus- i am a car salesman. those guys you dealt with are nincanpoops! if they were people friendly enough and treated you guys like a real person... they might have made a potential sale... if not from you... from someone you knew(assuming the impression he left you was a good one- warranting a referral)
if you become a cop- remember this guy- he might be your 1st citation

Sounds just like one of the salesmen from Stevens Creek Subaru. I guess there is no dealership immune to retarded salesmen......

There is only a select handful of dealerships that will acutally let you put your Stage packages under warranty. Not all of them will do this. Most look at modifications just like Subaru does.

If your friend or anyone wants a hookup on an SRT-4, PM me for details. I went to Santa Cruz superstore and I had the best buying experience ever.

I have a buddy that works as a tech up at Magnussen Dodge up in Auburn, and he has told me stories about what dodge has said for them to warranty on the SRT-4, which is just about everything.

They have received memos from Dodge saying they want everything covered to get the cars back on the road as fast as possible, they dont care what the issue is, just fix it and charge the customer the $50 deductible.

I dont know how it is at other dealerships, but thats how they are working up in Auburn.

I had a really good experience at my local subaru dealership (Ganley Subaru near cleveland) the salesman (Anthony) was really cool, test drove an 05 wrx wagon, best test drive I've taken yet, we went to the metroparks (lots of twisties) and he wanted me to take them fast to see the handling and grip, took em about 50 mph (nowhere near the threshold, but obviously I didn't know the car, so wasn't going to push it), he was impressed because he said most people won't take em at more than 40 mph (the car will do em at about 65 or 70). He spent a lot of time with me, and took the time to answer some of my very specific questions (such as wheel bolt pattern). We talked a little about modifying and warranties, and he said that their mechanics are very cool with that kind of stuff, and that they push SOA with warranty stuff if they're being difficult, and that if subaru absolutely refuses to cover something, that they charge 50% for repairs. Overall, I left with a very good feeling, and will probably go back to Ganley Subaru when it comes time to buy my wrx =)

that salesman you're talking about sounds like the same salesman who works for stevens creek subaru; he was an overbuilt guy with a flat top. from what i remember he told sweetazngurl (don't remember her name exactly) to race for slips.

I need to find a dealership like this locally, so I can just go there and screw with them. What a bunch of jerkoffs.

But you have to have them install, say a stage 2, to have it covered? If this is true, I might have to make a trip up to Auburn. That would be REAL cool to have it all covered under warranty. But it just won't pass smog. But who cares, that's in 5 years anyways.
