In his religious belief thry do not show pictures of the dead, it's out of respect to the people of the country to not show a dead body.

being a Muslim myself, i can guarantee you that if those pics were released, all hell would break loose in the countries where he still had supporters. the man had an empire under his feet, it would have definitely sparked up some drama..

I heard a damn good argument on the radio yesterday against showing the pics:
If we show pictures of a dead Osama Bin Laden, it causes a bunch of problems. Some extremists will use the to build a shrine, some people will show it as the brutality of the USA. Not to mention we'd be violating the Geneva Conventions.
If we don't show the pictures, what problems does it cause?

Don't need to see yet another bullet riddled body thanks. Neither do we need a reason to re-stoke the Jihad fires. As Barack stated...."no reason to spike the football".
It would be nice that since we killed the big boss, we get the Princess at the end of the game.

Just throw them out there, who gives a damn. We went through 10 years of crap and now you're afraid to release a photo. Big bad *** America and big cool Obama with his speech and no picture. Doesn't make sense to me.

I don't think they should release the pics to the general public due to the reason given above among many other reasons.
However, I do think that the US govt should be open to allowing official representatives of other countries to review the evidence that Bin Laden is dead. This would allow other countries leaders to make official statement to back that Bin Laden is dead and it was him. Something like this is also extremely sensitive so I'm not pretending to lay out details of how this would be done.
Then again, maybe it's not necessary, because anyone that high up is probably already convinced that Osama is dead, he was killed in the raid, and the US's official statement about it was effectively true.
What cracks me up is the nutjobs saying that this who thing was a publicity stunt to distract from "verifying Obama's birth certificate".
...actually no that's just sad.

I believe we should see pictures. I mean we as taxpayers have been paying for this war and funded the search for this man, and if we want to see pics show them...its like if you pay someone to build you a fence, and you take his word for it that it has been built without seeing the completed job, or pictures...just makes me want to be re assured, my .02
