Do you clean before you have people come over?
.. clean your place before people come over?
Say you're going to have some friends over for poker/movies/just hanging out or something like that (nothing fancy or formal).
Before they come over, do you clean your pad? Not just pick up a pile of crap or two out on the counters or something like that... but do you sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, take out the trash ect ect ect...
Or do you just wait till after they leave or the next day to do all that?
Or something other?

Being busy as **** with classes and work, I'm not the neatest person. I'll clean up before company comes over, but the extent of cleaning depends on the importance of the person coming over. The girl I'm see is coming over? House neat, room spotless. Friends coming over? House pretty clean, room who gives a ****?

Hmm, should have actually read the post. Dust and vacuum? No. I try to keep the kitchen clounter clean from day to day. Other surfaces are cleaned on a semi regular basis. It is the junk (school papers, magazines, yada yada yada) that need to be dealt with before people come over.

I'm with everyone else. I like my place clean, but my room semi-clean, which constitutes not crap everywhere.
It's funny though, and let me know if you guys agree, but you'll make the effort to make your place nice and clean but when you go over to some friend's house, sometimes they're messy as ****! Don't you guys agree?

I keep the house fairly clean to begin with but I'll put stuff away/clean dishes/sweep up any visible crumbs-garbage on the floor but no mopping/dusting (unless theres some massive dust bunnies some place) but +1 for it depending on who's coming over.
It's QQ thankyouverymuch

My place is always clean so there is no real crazy "cleaning" that takes place. If a mess is made, it is cleaned up immediately and thus the level of cleanliness remains high with seemingly no effort.

^ no one special... say its just friends you have knows for years and are just hanging out

Our place is cleaned once to twice a week.... full on (dust, mop, vacuum, ect ect ect) So our place is really never even dirty, or at least what most people would car dirty haha.
Im fine with just making sure that everything looks presentable before ppl come over, but the other half doesnt agree. Everything has to be CLEAN before ppl come over.
Ive told her so many times it really doesnt matter because we will just have to do everything over again after, but she doesnt care lol.
