Do people think your high beams are on?
I've got STOCK headlights on my 2006 WRX, which are not HIDs. But they have that "projector style" lens.
On multiple occasions, I'm getting flashed by oncoming traffic like I've got my high beams on (they give the nice, quick high beam flash). But I've got stock lights, and from what I can tell when I look at the aim, the lights aren't pointing too high. They don't kill the driver ahead of me, and they aimed no higher than hood height.
So I'm wondering, do other owners get people flashing at them too?

I have a 6K hid kit installed and I get flashed here and there. After I installed them I noticed the beam was aimed too high so I adjusted my headlight angle down a LOT. Even though they're adjusted I still get flashed, probably also because I don't have projectors so there is some light scatter.
one day going to work i was following a focus and he ended up behind me and just started flashing me like crazy... i was like wtf? i guess some people just dont know about hids
i have the same 06 projector style and when i hit bumps ppl think i am flashing them, so the flash me back? it could be that? ever notice how like the bmw's always look like they are flashing you when they hit a bump. pretty sure we look the same way?
I hate people who have their beams adjusted wrong. Especially when driving on dark curvy roads. If the beams are too high, they instantly blind on-coming traffic.
Light scatter is a ***** too. Make me want to blind people back with a couple of million candlepower torches.

I have stock fogs and bulbs on my legacy definitely aimed a bit higher since i live on the coast, brighted for them a ton but i actually got pulled over then the sheriff asked me why my fogs aimed so f'in high and i replied cause of the fog here and he said ok see you later.
Never got high beam'd when I had my GR STi, or even with my current A4.
Weird, my opinion actually is that OEM HID's can use a little bit of raising up to get lighting further forward on long dark stretches of roads. However, I'd rather drive a bit slower and a bit more careful than to blind oncoming traffic.
Now, what truly pisses me off are those folks with aftermarket HID's on their headlights without the proper housings (projectors?). Light scatter is not fun when you're on the receiving end. Damn honda ricers with their fart cans and super blue blinders. These are the folks that I'd love LEO's to pull over and give tickets to.

When I started driving the bugeye back in 2001 I was terribly disappointed in the fact that the low beams did not illuminate more than what seemed to be about 50 yards ahead of me, so I insisted they be raised to where I wouldn't be over-driving what I could see at 55 mph, apparently I wound up with them at the top of their adjustment range and that worked fine for 8 or 9 years until the lenses got so cloudy and yellow that I had to get them cleared up- then all of a sudden I was getting flashed by oncoming traffic on backroads like crazy, but a quick flash back usually gets the point across (especially with a pair of PIAA 2600's tied to the high beams)
