Erm, like, can I make a ISO format DVD and put MP3 directory structures on it and play it in a car DVD player? Or do you think I'd have to have MP3 on CD-R/RW?

I've looked at a coupld of mobile dvd player manuals but find no such details...

a data DVD will act like a data CD unless physically, the read/write head on the transport cannot read it.

remember, there is a a number of factors you are looking at, from the number of files in the root of a volume (dont ask why i know this) to the length of the filenames (including path names).

make the structure simple and shorten all the filenames.

if it cant read it, might be the dye layer too. sometimes, the laser doesnt reflect correctly.

best test is to burn a movie DVd and if the player still cant read, then you know it's the brank/color of the blank DVDs...

i ran through 3-4 diff brands from frys to get 4 diff dvd players to all play one disc...

i swear, the HD DVD and the BLU RAY dvd camps better get their asses together and come up with one friggin HI DEF optical disc standard. otherwise, we will see crap like this forever...

to answer the original question

Some can but most can't....if you go by the product manuals.

And then some are like the Kenwood DDX-7015 I recently put into my WRX. If you read the manual, it explicitly says it WILL NOT work.

I tried it, it DID work

And yes, 70 hrs of music on ONE disc is pretty dang cool
