I mean, the thought of taking two cars like ours, and then giving them to shops and getting $10,000 in mods and then have them race sounds awesome

But the race was stupid, and the whole street racing crap was lame...

Instead, they need to have a more serious air about it, and take two simular cars, prep them for autocross, or a track day, or maybe ONCE IN AWHILE a drag race, and have some serious shops do the work in a limited time frame ala monster garage or american chopper, and then have some nice actually entertaining racing...
The thing is that most people who would watch a show like that dont give a rats *** about auto-x or a track day. Drag racing has the most appeal so dont expect that show, if they air another one, to be about anything else.

it's pathetic that they were trying to capture the BS & drauma of American Chopper and the like...they couldn't come up with an original concept...

anyone see the junkyard wars where they built dragsters?

10 hours to build a dragster out of junk
then the two teams raced in the 1/8 mile

the funny thing was that those cars were faster than the two that had $10k put into them in 36 hours

Eh, it sucked. Too much talking IMO...I mean I guess if you weren't into cars it might have seemed cool. NAH, that show blew. Good idea with very poor execution. What sucked is that I watched the rerun from 12am-1am....watched the whole damn thing "hoping" it would get better. Alas, another hour of life wasted.

Well, if american chopper was working for DSC, why not try and make a spinoff of it. Happens all the time with network tv.

ya its amazing how they find a working 350 in a pile of rubish, as well as a LSD and all the supporting modes needed to make a safe dragster.. (its rigged)

Well now that the concept has been raped quite a bit, you would think it would be good to go for a change-up, no?

especially since it was a one-off show...just amateurish...

It didn't help that both of them were terrible drivers. I run a better 1/8th then that chick in my basically stock RS.

They needed more technical stuff PERIOD. A segment stating that nitrous "makes your car fastar" does not constitute tech stuff.

But the same people who watch shows like car and driver, horsepower TV, Top Gear, etc. would be more inclined to watch a NON rice-drag TV show, and they have more money to boot.

I don't understand why they took a DSM to a Honda specialist.

I vote Obie's mom Worst Mother Of A Kid Who Should Be Working Or Studying Harder In School. I wonder how proud of him she will be when he kills someone with his car.

I was just glad the AWD dsm beat the honda.

Also I found it funny that they were dissing both types of cars, especially the Civic and it's laughable stock motor.

That was just about the crappiest show I've ever seen. Screw you guys for even telling me about it!!!
Anyhow, I think it's a good thing that the i-Club wasn't even remotely involved. We don't need our good name tarnished by a buncha half-assed rice boys and their TV show.
On the other hand, I feel kinda sorry for APEX'i for having to put up with all the stupid isht. I'd say their shop and the three mechanics there were the only respectable bits of the crappy *** show.
