Berkeley has a great, although challenging course at aquatic park, me and stevedood used to drag some co-workers out to toss a round Friday evening after work.

The lake does tend to eat discs, as do a lot of the trees here, and with the breeze off the bay, it can be a tough course to play clean.

I will never play the Berkeley course again. I like a challenge but not one that eats my discs.

Seeing the guy balanced on the palette fishing for discs is priceless.

My discs cost me as much as $20 a pop and I've seen them for twice that.

haven't really played in like 4 years or so though.

Given that I haven't played in years, the most expensive ones where I was living was around $15. used ones could be picked up for only a few dollars.

Hey Pete, what time should I meet you there?

I bought some of the high end pro discs at the sports shop at Bridgepoint in Fosters City a few weeks ago for $15 each. They also have the 3 disc beginner package available.

click the links.

Basically you have a minimum of 2 discs. A driver and a putter. Putters are softer. They have holes...like golf layed out. Then they have holes....like golf layed out. They are metal towers with metal baskets around them with metal chains hanging to help catch your disc.

You try to make it in the hole in as few a throws as possible all the while drinking beers. Just like golf.

You can easily play with only one disc if you want. While I have about 3 or 4 (driver, mid, putter) discs I typically still only play with one the entire round. I find that I can be more accurate by throwing one disc more often than 3 many less times.

I usually use 2. A driver and a putter. The driver is more likely to bounce out of the basket.

Disc golf however (back on topic) is "HELLA" fun. Played half a course at De Lavega a few times. Should have been sober, would have been more interesting. I'm game for a game! Didn't know there was one in SJ?!
