In dire need of a good body shop in the Fremont area!
Hey guys,
As you know, my subie was cosmeitcally raped and I need a good body shop to trust in since there is a lot of cosmetic stuff to be done. This is for my 2007 STi.
Thanks,
Daniel

Daniel!! I gave you a really good reference, read your pm! A lot of I-clubbers went to Yeaman and there are 2 or 3 that go back for work on a constant basis..
I don't know about fremont specifically but I recommend Pro Auto Body in South San Jose.

I recommend Yeaman in PaloAlto for sure, I got my hood painted there a year ago and paint job holding up strong while parked outdoors! Stay away from Union City Auto Body at all costs. I had 2 separate jobs done there, total costs over $500 and they developed noticible imperfections within a few months! Unfortunately the problems that came up afterwards were not so obviously their fault that I could go back and get a respray, but nonetheless I was disappointed. Send me a pm if you are curious about the details.

Well then the best bet is to go to a "guaranteed" shop via your insurance. I have AAA and basically what this means is they will guarantee the work for the life of the vehicle. Like for an example my bumper paint is chipping off really badly. I guess its a "known" thing with Subies but since the work was under one of AAA's guaranteed shops, I just take the car back and they'll fix it without question. It also provides for quicker work since the insurance company has a partner ship with the shop.
I am sure your insurance has something similar. It really helps out in the end.
You'll be back rolling clean soon.

Carmat Collision in Santa Cruz if you are willing to travel...
But you have to make sure the owner is the one that does the end inspection/follow-up. When they were smaller, they were great. Now that they've gotten bigger, they still do good work, but missed little things here and there during my last repair there. However, the owner made sure it was done right and took care of me. It was a bit of a hassle, but definitely good work and customer service.

There's a shop called EMC in Fremont that is supposed to be ALL THAT... I took my subie there a couple of times and both times they have treated me like I was a criminal and trying to steal from them when I pointed out mistakes that they made... Their work is very sub par and the owner is a total douche... Just so everyone knows, stay away from that shop if you know whats good for you, they are like the I-speed of the auto body world.
PS: Owned by Italians, their business practices are VERY sketchy, its like you're dealing with the mob.
