Differential problem, need help

Ok, well it looks like I need to replace my rear differential, and maybe my center. GST said that only dealerships do this, and so far my local dealership in monterey has not been great. Anyone know a good dealership to go to?

What's the symptom?
We've replaced both rear and center differentials.
If your center diff is toast, be prepared to spend big $$$!

No kidding. I replaced my center diff myself. The stock center is around 2200-2400. I had mine rebuilt by rallispec for 1200. Then I just installed it myself. The good thing about the center diff is you don't have to take the transmission out of the car. Just take the tail section off.

If your rear diff is bad, you can rebuild it as well, or go for a new diff. After I blew my cusco diff I went with a Kaaz 1.5 way and have been very happy with it.

idk he said something like that. Was thinking of just getting a new rear diff. But my center is making noise too. So would sending to rallispec be the best bet?

Rear diff is really not too bad to replace. The center is a bit harder.

Did you actually take it up to GST? Or call the problem in? I have dealt with the dealer in Monterey in the past, with my bug eye and they weren't very helpful. Santa Cruz was a lot more helpful, and nicer. Since you're not too far away, maybe drop your car by them. A second opinion never hurts. I would say that if you did take the car to GST, and this is what they came up with then that's probably the problem...but Sc is a short trip, so stop by and see what happens, and go from there. just my .02 cents

Well as for center diffs that was the cheapest option. About half the cost of a new center diff lol. I believe they sell new clutch packs and pressure rings etc for the rear diff as well if you just want to rebuild your stock one.
