well now after a quick drive to the next town (20 miles round trip)

wow, thats unbelievable timing. How lame, sorry for you dude. How many miles? Any guess as to why this may have happened?

I had a spark plug back out once, and thought the motor was done.

Reminds me of that commercial of the couple driving a car and they're about to make the last payment on the car. The lady says, " you know when we make this last payment, something is going to go wrong with the car". He says "Na, it'll be fine".
She makes the last payment through her phone and when she presses done, the rear view mirror falls off.
