don't shift at redline
shift a few hundred rpm's lower, by the time you hit redline, you've lost HP b/c the boost is turned down, you can run better times shifting a little below redline

no, i mean hold the gas down so you dont loose boost by blowing it off

i may be wrong in the following statement, so please say so if i am.

you said to hold the gas down when shifting, so basically just push in the clutch and shift right?

with my gfb bov, and im assuming stock bypass valve works the same way; if i either take my foot off the gas, or push in the clutch, it blows off, meanin a "loss" of boost correcT?

so wouldn't just keepin on the boost not really matter, b/c when you put in the clutch it stops the boost that is bein held anyway?

well, i dont really know what happens
all i know is that if i hold the gas down, hit the clutch and grab the next gear, as opposed to letting the gas off to shift, i get an extra 3mph of trap speed and a slightly lower et.

I only guessed that i wasnt losing boost and that made it faster, but i could be way off......all i know is i go faster that way, so do what works for you.

I dont hear the blow off when i hold the gas and shift, but that could just be because i cant hear it over the engine noise.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

i used to powershift (shifting w/o letting off the gas)when i raced my nissan 240sx and i ended up blowing the whole tranny at about 30k and replacing the clutch twice within that span...luckily nissan replaced it under warranty...i wouldnt recommend it on our trannys with all the stories ive been hearing about how delicate they are...u might also end up damaging the transfer case and your front/rear differentials...OUCH!!
