Hey doodes,

What off the shelf pre-wax cleaner do you guys recommend?
Can paint sealants like meguiar's NXT wear the clear coat on our cars? Since it does remove some minor swirls, is it going to wear off some of the clear coat?

A claybar is always good to remove contaminants (sp) and old wax but wont take out swirls,,, That plus a good wax makes for some nice smooth paint and should not take from the clear at all ,,

 

Dawn dishwashing soap and a claybar should get rid of everything thats on your paint. Dawn has some scientific ph thing, while i dont know what that is i do know it will easily get old wax and **** off your paint, and the claybar will take care of the rest.

If you want to polish the clear coat (get rid of swirls) then try a Hand Glaze which is the least strongest but definitely the safest to use, if you want something stronger try a swirl mark remover but be careful because you could do damage to your clear coat or paint.
