Deploying to Iraq tonight!

Oct1285, are you at Ali Air Base/ Camp Ader? Thats where I'm at right now. Anyways guys, I'm in Iraq. Temp is about 120-130 degrees hot! Everything has been safe so far, but just a couple weeks ago, a rocket hit in the area where our tents are at. . . But since I been here, its been quiet! Keep you guys updated!

glad to hear you made it safe to Iraq. we're all pulling and praying for you to make it back safe bro.
my cousins are in the air force, and they just got back from the region a little while ago. according to them, its absolute hell. unfortunately, i dont know where they were stationed, or what they did, but they got back safe and sound.
as another member was saying, we basically have your back. theres almost nothing we all would'nt do to help out one of our own.
keep in touch with us when you can bro.

I just heard back from my buddy that they are reduceing numbers so his trip was canceled for the time being. He was due out in a couple weeks. He is relieved but pretty pissed because of all the work they put in training for what they were gonna do.
apparently there is still a chance they will go out in support of a special ops unit but it won't be for a year...more likely 4 months. Also a chance they'll go a couple other places for 2-4 months depending on how gnarly they expect it to be. Something about the elections in afgan.
hopefully you won't get stuck over to long. best of luck. keep us updated.

There is a word coming around that if we get into iran we may have to stay here for 365 days. . .that sucks. . hopefully not, but I guess more money. The cool thing is, since I'm here in the computer tent I see other guys surfing on other WRX/STI sites for parts and forums! Its good to see other suby fighters representin' here in the desert! Haha! Let me know if you guys have friends that may come to Talill Air Base/Ali Air Base/Camp Ader. We might have a suby meet here! Haha! Aite brotha's, I'll keep yall informed.
