Debadging Help
i'm planning on debadging the wrx this weekend. i have approx 31,000 miles on it and was wondering if debadging it will cuase it to have faded lettering on my trunk. can i buy some black touch-up paint from kragen to cover it up? TIA

it shouldn't...and you shouldn't need any touch up paint.
All you do is grab a blow dryer. Warm up the letters. Slip some floss in and pop them off. Then use something like goo gone to clean the area. Then wash the entire trunk. Then I'd suggest clay baring and detailing the entire car.
If there is any fading it can usually be gotten rid of by polishing the car.
Be careful. Go slow. DO NOT OVERHEAT.

i finally debadged the 2.5 RS logo on my trunk after 136k miles and it left a little border of missing paint : (
i didnt heat it up much and i didnt scrape it off, but the glue was very old (you know, like 9 years : D)

one of the best materials to use is the nylon packaging straps you find on crates and large boxes. That's what I was told by a body shop guy. He said as long as you go slowly, it'll take most of the glue with the badge, so less cleanup afterward.

i found using an old credit card worked better than the floss i was using. As others said important to wash, clay bar, paint clean, then wax ! thats what I did and im happy with the way it came out

We did our cars i think the first week we had them so we didnt need blow dryer or anything just some fishing line and came right off and no glue left on.

thanks a bunch for the help and hopefully it looks 10x better like it does on other cars
