"Death Magnetic"

Ok, I'll be the first to admit I guess that this album isn't as fail.mp3 as St. Anger was. It seems they've remembered how to compile proper length rock songs as there is not one song on the album less than five minutes long (5:01 is the shortest, 2 are mid 6 minute songs, the other 7 songs are longer than 7 minutes). Hetfield's "vocals" still bother me, not only in comparison to previous Metallica albums, but just in comparison to what I find good. Musically I like the album. Compared to other Metallica albums, it isn't a Metallica album. Compared to what is being passed of as "music" nowadays it is good.

One comment: Rob Trijillo needs to go.

At least Rick Rubin made Lars actually play his drums through, instead of piecing it all together in pro-tools

Machine Head is better. Trade "Death Magnetic" in for The Blackening.

I agree with you guys death magnetic is still missing something and im pretty sure its in the vocal department. Kirk is definatly on point. Gonna have to say the best song is the one where James isnt singing =)

James' voice is different for a few reasons, 1. he is getting older. 2. he isn't an angry alcoholic anymore.

Yes Rock needs to be tried and found guilty of murder.

Rubin is a mastermind.

All things aside - I like this album, it isn't the BEST Metallica, but at least they are back on the right track now.

going against the grain, this cd sucks. I like the old stuff for its nostalgia, and I really like S&M for its hard yet refined approach, but this new CD all sounds the same....LIKE CRAP.

I'm still "unforgiving" them for hearing that song over and over again on older albums.

Even more so since they started attacking fans and school kids with downloading music attacks and lawsuits. That was a major sellout and never getting any of my money again move.

They figured allot of us forgot with some time. I will not and still will not buy their cd's.
well guess what?

Unforgiven!

No I have never downloaded music on napster or any other places.
