Dear Old Man Driving a Pink Ford Fiesta,
When going on a onramp to a freeway, and there are 2 lanes, both of them are not yours! Merging while going 20, and traffic is easily going 50, doesnt work. Its obvious why I sped around you... which brings me to my other gripe...
If you are going to filp me off because I didnt want to get stuck behind you going 20, then atleast have the decentcy to look at me with a pissed off look, and flip me the bird with some authority. But no, you have to put you arm on the window sill, flip the bird as if you were holding onto the window frame.
You think that I actually took you serious, driving a PINK FIESTA, and a half a$$ flipping the bird.... I think not.

****ers like that **** me the hell off. What most of the IDIOTS up here in Norcal don't seem to udnerstand is. It is breaking the law to not merge at full speed, when you merge in at under 50, you are indangering other drivers.

It seems to me that, while yes it can be argued that creating a speed differential by driving slower could create a hazard, people are given more time to react to the situation then they are by someone speeding. Lowered reaction time = larger hazard.

Why do people in NorCal think SoCal drivers are any better? Yes, people aren't in such a rush in the Bay, so they don't drive as fast, but there are just as many dumbass drivers here as there are up there.
I don't think I would ever feel safe driving a car slower than my WRX. There have been SO many times where I need to floor it just to get to speed on a freeway since I'm following some moron who thinks it's safe to merge onto a freeway at 30-40mph.
VRT - People on the freeway do not expect someone on the freeway to be going 30 mph. People do, however, expect people to be driving up to 80 mph (if you don't then you're in denial). Thus, people drive with the expectation of such, making it a much a more dangerous situation for someone to be driving 30 than for someone to be driving 80.
With the dangers we're talking about in this thread, it's not the speed, it's speed differential between two cars and anticipation. If everyone is driving 80, there is no speed differential, throw in someone who is going 30, all of a sudden you have a 50 mph speed differential. The speed differential between 65 and 80 is only 15 mph, while the speed differential between 65 and 30 is 35mph, more than doubling it. It is much more dangerous to be entering a freeway at 30 than it is to be speeding at 80.
