Day trip to tahoe. . . 1 pic.

I have a rare week off from work, so I decided to go to Harris for the night just to get out of the area and do something. This was probably my third trip to tahoe, and I have lived in walnut creek/pleasant hill my entire life.

Anyway, I was able to get one pic on one of the turnouts on hwy 50. I took more than one pic, but only one came out too my liking.

The cool thing about the trip, saw a bunch of suby's, and was given some head nod's and peace signs from some. More outbacks than anything. Oh, and I get revved on by a stock ralliart.

I would definitely take the trip again.

Yea, coming from walnut creek, I went 680 to 80, 80 to 50. Hwy 80 isn't fixed, its bumpy and chewed up.

Nice pic! Really makes me miss snowboarding though hahaha

It might be too late, but consider getting your front bumper clear bra'd. That DGM won't be so pretty after it gets sand blasted from a few road trips (especially with Tahoe snowboarding trips, I know from experience )

Yea, its always in the back of my head.
I was thinking, after its clear bra'd, is the maintenance the same? I mean, do you just wash it, or do you wax and all that as well?

Correct. It was a fun trip, and before the hill, along the american river there were three suby's hanging out on the side of the road, eating lunch.

Maybe a future tahoe gtg sometime? We could go bay area to tahoe, and meet-up with sac subys all the way to tahoe.

Maybe

I seriously recommend it. Better pay for clear bra now than have to pay for repaint AND clear bra later on.

I'll try to take a pic of my front bumper to show you the effect of 1 (yes, just one) snow season of daly city to tahoe trips (2 weekends, and 10 day trips). Or if you're anywhere near Daly City.

As far as maintenance, it should be pretty much the same, as long as you're consistent with your washes and waxes. I wax every 4-6 weeks, and claybar every 3 months. I wash the car every 1-3 weeks, and use Meguiar's UQD after every wash. Your frequency might be less if you don't park outside like I do. So far the factory film on the rear fenders aren't yellowing or anything. The only downside is that I don't spend the time to take the wax residue off the edges of the films, so I have this visible outline because of it

I'm scheduling my DGM GR for front bumper repaint and clear bra next week. The quote was $1300. Imagine my frustration on having to spend this much (yes, the rock chips are that bad that I can't ignore it anymore) on a car that isn't even a year old

Anyway, have fun with your trip man! No need to worry about this till you're back!

I got back yesterday, just a small overnighter. Washed the car today, because I didn't want any trace or possibility of salt on my car. Didn't notice any chips in the front yet. In the next few months, I want to do tint/overlays. Maybe I will look into clear bra.

Pics of wash to come later.
