Dawn of the Dead (Suby Sighted)

I can't believe I'm the first person to post this.

I saw the remake of Dawn of the Dead last night and it was awesome. I think 28 Days Later was still a better zombie flick all n all, but this remake does the original justice and then some. A few very good jumps and I clenched my teeth a couple times too, so it get's a strong A- from me.

The crazy part was that right in the beginning of the movie though (No this is not a spoiler) right before one of the main characters (a nurse) and her husband bone down the TV is playing that cool WRX commercial where the silver '04 slides a dirt corner. It's the freaking focal point of the screen and you can even hear the voice over yapping about "227 horsepower blah blah blah."

It makes me wonder, am I the only horror fan on this board?! I love horror flicks. Anyway, there's another tiny reason to go see the movie...

it's been discussed in another thread...

yeah, it was in the first 10 minutes when it was showed on USA network.

right when the couple is getting it on in the bathtub, the TV is running the WRX commercial with the silver car drifting...

then it cuts to the EBS...

I guess I'm kinda sheltered. I rarely venture out of BAIC... Was your post in BAIC or elsewhere Miranda?

Thanks for the links... and not saying WTLY

I agree with you on this, I think it definitely did the original justice. For some reason though, I was not too impressed with the ending...

Saw dawn of the dead and hildalgo last night at mercado, my girlfriend thought I was retarded when I started talking about subaru's during the movie . Then there was a white 2004 wrx parked by my car when we left.

As far as comparing dawn of the dead against 28 days, they were both good, but 28 days was a bit less cheesy. I mean the girl going after the dog, me and my girlfriend were hoping that she would die. I like horror movies, it's just that I haven't seen many of the classics.

Anybody else notice that there is a lot of fantasy/sci fi movies coming out?

James

One thing I didn't like about 28 days later was the 2nd half where they went to the army safehouse place and then they had the soldiers turn on them (the 2 girls and the guy) cause they were horney. But the 1st half was great.

Yeah, I could think of a few better ways to handle that section of the movie if I put my head to it... Im sure. I just remember walking out of that movie and feeling somewhat traumatized, and I'm a pretty hardcore fan of horror, so while I was expecting a good movie, I did not expect 28 Days Later to have the effect on me it did. That sense of dread and hopelessness came through in full.

i believe that ending was there to leave an option for a sequel: DAY of the dead... again, a remake.

I never saw 28 days, but it sounds like maybe I should...lol!
nah... dont... a week after i saw it, i read in the newspaper ad, that at the end of the credits, they show an alternate ending...

i was gonna sneak into a theater just to watch it.

then i heard it was like a minute long and it wasnt that big deal...

This past week I saw Secret Window, Hidalgo, Dawn of the Dead, and Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless mind! I am a huge movie buff!
lol... you're more of a movie ***** that me... my record was 4 movies for a 3 day weekend... and yes, i shelled out $9 per... :dummy smiley:

When me and my friends went to see Dawn of the Dead and they showed the Subie commercial we cheered and got all excited (I think the people in the theatre thought we were crazy).

Miranda
good one... i was expecting the ad, but still, i was shocked when i saw it...
