Any Dane Cook fans here? Just wondering what I'm missing...I don't get his humor.

Ever since he appeared on SNL a little while back and I turned it off halfway through his monologue, eveybody's been telling me to check him out. I had never heard of him before SNL, but now he seems to be everywhere.

So is there some inside joke all these people know that I'm missing out on? Otherwise, he's just an annoyingly loud guy. His "observations" aren't funny nor true...so ummm...I just don't get it. Someone fill me in. Or link to some good youtube links.

 

some hate em some love em. My fiance' thinks he's lame....me....cracks me up. It's A.D.D. comedy man.

 

I think Dane Cook is pretty funny, it's just how he's animated. Some of his jokes are lame, but no one can do a perfect sketch.

If you want bad comedy, just watch Mind of Mencia. His one special with 2 other comedians was pretty good, but other than that, he's a hack.

i thought he was hella funny until i realized he just repeats the same stuff over and over in stand up comedy.. you can be watching a different act, but he still uses all his old material. in movies he's pretty funny though

 

along with alot of other comedians. But especially with dane cook, hes not only repeating, but the unnecessary exageration and the yelling is embarassing for him i think.

you know your audience is stupid when they laugh at you for your voice and volume rather than what comes out.

The people that dont understand family guy ironic under the surface comedy LOVE dane cook-yell and scream til they laugh comedy

I'm a Dane Cook fan (and Family Guy by the way). I just get Dane's sense of humor. Weird little twists and random thoughts interlaced into rather dull stories.

If you think Dane is too energetic, you should see Titus do one of his stand up routines. His whole act is yelling and ranting. That's not always bad either though. Sam Kinison was one of the best.

 

yeah its not so much yelling as it is dumb people laughing.
doesnt it seem like some people laugh JUST because the volume of the comedians voice is higher? even if its not funny

I like family guy and dane cook too haha i like his voices, some say hes sold out, but anyone would sell out for anything in any money making position.

and i LOVE MITCH HEDBERG! I found out about him a maybe 4 years ago, wish it were earlier so i could see his show

 

I've only known about Mitch for 2 years. I started trying to find out when he was touring around San Jose.... that's when I realized he had died. That was a big downer.

Dane Cook is pretty good, and he has a few scetches that I really like, but almost everything that came from Mitch Hedberg was hillarious.

 

yeah, i heard of a tribute show to Mitch Hedberg on the radio a few weeks ago, i shouldve looked into it more by now. Dont know what it means.

Dane Cook is a huge douchebag. Maybe it's because I knew this kid that worshipped him and he would talk in real life exactly the way Dane does and it annoyed the hell out of me.

When I hear someone say they like Dane Cook it speaks volumes about their character much more than actually spending time to get to know them.
