So a few weeks ago, I was driving on Holloway coming home from state and got pulled by Cal State 5-0. He told me that my exhaust was illegal and that its against the law to modify my exhaust in anyway. He was saying that it was way too loud as well. I told him I had the cap at home to not make it as loud (blitz nur-spec R) and he gave me a "I dont give a ****" face. I didnt even try to argue with him cause I was already annoyed that SFPD has never given me trouble but these bastards around state have nothing else better to do. He gave me a ticket and now I have to go to 850 bryant before 7/24. What are they goin to make me do? Fines? Convert back to stock? Put the silencer cap back on? Ive only gotten fix-it tickets and never a ticket like this where I have to actually go down there. I just want to know what I should be expecting ahead of time.

but what you should do is get rid of the nurspec.

i've been driving with a blitz nurspec r for about 3 years.

 

i drove around with the nur spec r for about a year and i live down the street from the chp station. never got pulled over.

campus police can be dicks for small ****. theyre just hella bored and looking to pull someone over. a couple years back my brother ripped tore a tendon in his leg so when i went to take him to fresno state i pulled into the handicap spot just to drop him off because he couldnt wakl and was on crutches. campus police pulls up behind me and gives me a $350 ticket I've been pulled over by campus police so many times for stupid reasons. My friend got pulled over a few months back because his rear window was tinted too dark. wtf??

 

I don't get why people apply to be campus cops.... Girls maybe? Worst jurisdiction ever.

 

I'd be grumpy too if the best job I could get was to be a campus cop my entire life, wouldn't you?

 

dude id love to be a campus cop u get to give b.s tickets and give people **** for small things and you get to be looked down on by real cops and you have the whole campus hating your guts its very appealing haha jp yea i got a bs ticket in sd for no front plate on a sun morning in the parking lot a time where they arent even supposed to be checking the lots

 

The same thing kind of happened to us in Davis. The same s*** about how any modified exhaust is illegal. Don't know who feeds them this info. Yeah...

If I remember correctly, as long as your cats are in place and your exhaust is less than 95db, you should be okay.

I work for a campus PD.

Most of the time the sworn officers can't get hired in bigger places for one reason or another. Over weight, bad credit, low test results, what not. Some are cool some are not. Like anywhere it's hit and miss.

Challenge the officer’s jurisdictional authority to enforce vehicle codes. Some departments can't but still act like they can. If you were in a parking lot, not a road, when you were pulled over you fit under a different set of rules and codes

Even track only cars need to park somewhere...

it just going to get worse and worse guys, everyone with loud exhaust will sooner or later get a ticket. you think your getting away with it now but guess what you will get a ticket one day. california is not messing around when they say they want to get control of modified vehicles.

all i can say is Borla Hush is your best bet for modified exhaust with no ticket

Okay, I'm pretty sure people with exhaust know there's a chance they'll get a ticket someday, just like people with front window tint, lowering springs, or any other illegal mods that most of us have and know that our day may come... so I'm pretty sure its no surprise to many when it does happen...

I'm pretty sure most of us don't need to be told that we think we are getting away with it, and that you're shocking us by telling us "guess what... you'll get a ticket one day"... no sh*t lol

...but I'm guessing most people don't care because the benefit they receive from having whatever mods they have is enough to outweigh the blow they'll take if/when they get a ticket, which is why they decide to go ahead and mod the way they do in the first place, that's their choice and their consequences... no parenting please

I think a lot of guys with wagons and/or older guys go the way of quiet exhaust, which is cool but don't push your mods on everyone, you probably wouldn't like it if I told you to get an HKS instead of your Borla Hush... I'm not trying to be an *** or any thing, but getting a modded exhaust ticket isn't really all that bad, even if I get reffed and have to go back to stock.

no hard feelings lol and you're right... people who want quiet exhaust should go with something like the Burla Hush, but for people who like loud abnoxious engine noise with no reguard for tickets... get an HKS, GReddy, Espelir, Tanabe, etc.
