It's cool though, I think everyone here should see this thread and learn something. And personally, I feel that he should be denied the coverage. It's one thing when you are doing stupid mods, it's another when you mess up purely accidentally, like, putting in a lower octane gas or something like that. Those things hapen, but when you are putting in a boost controller and setting it to 18psi without fuel and management, you're being stupid. I can't believe an easy street person told him 18psi was ok... that just boggles my mind.

That thread is too funny. I completely understand why that guy sent the e-mails to the dealership. My husband and I were mad because our car blew up and it really was stock except for the turbo timer. Anyways my husband thanks me for being so mean about mods on our car.

I've done this many times, but for me, it's the oppsite direction, so putting in 91 isn't a big deal, just a waste of money for me. But then again, it doesn ensure better ping protection
but yeah, that's different, cause you reach for the nozzle and just pump, than from this guy...

the funniest part was his responses. he quit responding, and it kinda lost its buzz then.

Wow I missd that one... Whadda dork! I would have turned him in too! We're honest subaru owners here, or when you're not YOU DON'T BRAG ABOUT IT! duhhhh we'd like to keep repair costs down and R&D development up... we get a 300hp STi next year! (Thank you thank you thank you! ) That wouldn't have happened if every shmo with a WRX and a boost controller brought the car in "uhhh the engine blew"
Hope they don't start putting telemetry in like the M3's, then none of us will ever survive a warrenty claim.
