DAFUQ Amber Alert Scare

Silent+Vibrate+Favorites+DoNotDisturb=WINNING. I'm on AT&T and my other phone is an android, both are setup, neither got the alert pushed through. **I'm a big boy, I can read the freeway signs just fine.**
Wfe's phone however went off with a siren around 2am this morning.
I already knew. She was mad, I didn't worry, only her and the baby got woken up in the baby's room.
*FWIW they sent the alert out South to North since they (hopefully) locked the border in time.
That said it ain't too hard to jump a charter boat and cruise south.
I hope they find the kids healthy and the guy beaten to a pulp. As a father of a beautiful girl and a newborn son I feel for the Mom here. This is one situation I never want to have to face.

Ok, so not just me then. Wife & I were early asleep due to jetlag, then the freaking phone made some noise i have never heard before ~10:45 last night, hella loud, damn near gave me a heart attack as it woke me.
Weird thing, my iPhone5 has options in notifications for alerts (now turned off), but her iPhone4 doesn't have these, she never got the alerts. we are both on ATT, with 408 codes. how come only i was lucky enough to get this 'feature'?

We both got this last night. While it startled us and was a bit unnerving, we were impressed that the system has come this far. I know if it was my kid I would want everyone to know in an effort to track them down.

Ditto, I'd be pissed at first but I like I found the alert text either way.
Now if they'd only listen to customers and stop those 3am SPAM Texts I'll be happy. (Why I turn the phone to DND @ 9pm.)

I was at a local boba shop when the first amber alert went off, all of a sudden everyone's phones started going off and then mine went off I thought SHTF. Today alone I got two of them within 20 minutes, I was at a gun store and everyone in the store was like wtf.
Agree. I just wish it was a standard txt tone and not a damned siren!!
When my phone went off and got the txt all it said "AMBER ALERT boulivard,ca blue nissan versa" that was all said it didnt say why there was a amber alert like kidnapping etc.

It was really uhh... vague though. Like what city? Where? Not just ***,ca. No license plate either.
