Crazy *** deer story.

So I'm driving home from work today and there's a pick up ahead of me who starts to slow down and move to the right to turn on to a side street. I start to accelerate past him. And all of a sudden from a cluster of trees and from behind the sign for the neighborhood he was turning into a buck darts out in front of me.

"holy ****!"

I slam on the breaks and he turns to his right a little and since I veered to the left (probably should have veered right, but he came from the right so my reaction was to turn away) we end up going about the same direction, only I'm going a bit faster than he is. His hoof must have clipped my bumper and it sends him spiraling. For about 30 feet he's doing summersaults next to my car....not the prettiest sight. Eventually he falls off the road into more trees.

I pull off at the next side street and make sure nothing is falling off my car and then I turn around and drive back towards where it happened. I get to the road and I see a truck and a guy standing next to a bleeding deer. I pull up but am confused as hell because its a doe, not a buck, but I figured I must have seen it wrong the first time. He goes "she just came out of nowhere and hit the truck." I go "WTF mate? I just hit one too!"

Mine took off, his had to be put down. However, since he's a busy man he leaves and since I'm an animal person I sit and wait for animal control which the deer is twitching next to me.

Is it beer o'clock yet?

I had similar experience
I almost hit two of them on Canada Road with my bicycle on Friday. My friends and I rode in the dark and all in sudden two deers came out of nowhere. Luckily, they ran away b4 I crashed into them. can't imagine who will get hurt more lol

Nah lol that one sounds nasty.

This one was just like half a block from my cabin when I left on Sunday, It looked just like the one my dog and I were watchin saturday night. I was just chillin on my deck In front and I see these 2 bucks come jumpin the fence from my back yard onto the street. I watched them for awhile while my dog was crying, he wanted to play with them hella bad LOL! Next morning as I'm leaving I see what looked to be like the same buck just ripped open laying underneath a stop sign. Hella blood and nasty as ****!

how come when you hit raccoons, they are never in your rear view mirror, when you know for a fact you hit them? I dont think they can crawl away after being hit. I guess they are sent airborne, but weird.

Or they're in pieces all over the under side of your car. I used to have a slammed hotrod with a custom skid guard that liked to do that. I called it the masher.

a friend of mine used to work for caltrans. he said, every time they got a report of a deer being hit, by the time they got there, it'd be gone. folks with pick up trucks would routinely pick them up for eatin'. mmmm...venison jerky!
