Apparently I'm not the only one lol
^^
im interested, specially on the 98
pm your number, and bit of detail on the car

i have everything for a rsti swap, but in need of a good chassis, to fit 18x11 +5 lol
Here's the thread on the black car. I paid $4k for it, then spent another few bucks or so on a Suby t-stat, Suby coolant, Suby radiator cap and some other maintenance items only to find out that it had a BHG. It's drivable, but should not be seen as a 100% working car. This is the only reason I just have not tossed it up on CL. I would drive it to Sac no problem in it's current condition, but.. Yeah. Great swap candidate. :)

1998 2.5 RS Coupe

Here's some info on the '95, and there is also a bunch of pics and progress in the Bay Area Swap thread. WARNING: There is a ton of posts by me in that thread that contain gratuitous whining. :)

1995 Impreza Brighton L coupe body, clean title. 1995 running gear long gone. Based on previous 1998/2003 swap but transferred to this 1995 Brighton L body. Wire harness has been run and mostly connected. Will need to be completed at transmission, and under dash connecting to body sub-harnesses. Engine is connected.

Body:
- JDM STi V6 struts/V5 springs
- Brand new Whiteline adjustable rear lateral links ($500+)
- Whiteline adjustable rear sway bar
- Whiteline Anti-Lift-Kit
- WRX front brakes/Legacy rear brakes/SS lines
- Turbo Legacy front x-member
- 1998 RS rear x-member
- Firewall prepped for 1998-2001 interior/HVAC
- 1998 RS dash bar, HVAC boxes installed
- 2003 WRX fuel tank with Wahlbro 255lph pump

Engine:
- 2003 WRX EJ20 2.0L, 14k miles on rebuild, WRX ECU, AccessPort V2 tuned for this setup
- Perrin crank pulley
- STi crank
- STi “pink” injectors
- STi VF-39 turbo
- STi TMIC
- STi up-pipe
- WRX manifold
- WRX downpipe
- New factory boost-side gaskets
- SUPER rare JDM WRX radiator with fender-mounted overflow and x-over piping

Transmission/Driveline:
- 2004 WRX 5spd, driveshaft, differential
- Exedy Stage II clutch (3-puck)
- ACT lightweight flywheel, resurfaced
- New Subaru T/O bearing
- Kartboy short shifter and bushings
- 2003 WRX axles

Misc crap:
Freaking TONS of parts, interior, extra, so much stuff. All of the above is part of the deal, but the spreadsheet of parts I have could be worked out too. Make me Impreza-free!!

The '95 would be better for a "radical" swap since it's stripped, and due to the gag-tastic Agean Blue color it needs paint anyway, so bust out the sawzall and stuff some 18x11's (wut) up that one. Ha!
Apparently I'm not the only one lol
Well.. There are two cars. :D Actually more like 2.67384 cars.

I should mention that there is one person that has first "right of refusal" for the project. Should hear back soon.

The green car is at a shop in Belmont, and the black car is at my house on the coast. Happy to show either/both. Best thing would be to take a look at everything, and see if this is what you want to do.. Also happy to take pics/vids/etc.

One thing I will flatly NOT do is offer any assistance whatsoever with completion of the swap. I am selling this as my failed dream, so I do not want to pro-long the pain. I have had lots of "how much time would it take me to complete this" sort of questions and well - if I knew that... I probably wouldn't be typing this right now. Some people have done this in two weekends, some have not done it in two years of "trying." So, somewhere in there. ;)

At this price, you can afford to do your research. If someone took this deal, they could sell off the swap parts and completely recoup costs, basically getting the complete black 2.5RS for free.

Here's a nice one:http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/2432399763.html

OneManArmy 06-10-2011 12:43 PM

Jacob... what's your price on those two you have?

Is the motor in the black one still solid? Just needs a head gasket? I'm looking for a daily driver.

For a swap... but just to buy to drive... no way. 191k on it!

I'd pay like $4000 for it with those miles.

It's still hard to find one that clean inside and out.
It's still hard to find one that clean inside and out.
It's not hard - it is unpossible. The only way to get one of these cars super nice anymore is to make it that way yourself. It's stuff like some of the reactions to this car's price/ad that makes me want to stab myself in the face before trying to sell a WELL MAINTAINED car to the general public. I will never do it again. Cars of mine that are for sale are offered to friends/family first, and then consigned if needed.

Sold 3 cars and bought 1 this week. Good times.

To be clear, my life is Impreza-Free for the first time since 2002. I cannot put into words the level of content excitement I feel as a result of this. **** YEAH!!!!

fizay 06-16-2011 10:28 PM

Not an impreza, but I bet it's rarer than Kosta's FF1

I'd rather have the van in the background. 4x4 conversions are awesome!

SkizzDawg 06-17-2011 03:34 PM

That mini van is sick. If i had the money and space i would pick it up. Its harder than hell to find a cheap Running and clean VW bus thats pre 70s.

Haha, that was the first thought that popped into my mind as well.
