Cow tax

http://www.businessandmedia.org/arti...230165231.aspx

so they say they want to tax cows for global warming...hmmmm am i the only one here that cant make sense of this?

tax cows = fight against global warming? if there are 100 cows and they tax 100 cows, those 100 cows still fart the same amount and that wont change anything, unless those tax money will go 100% directly to some kind of global warming research.

why not ban hambergurs? i'm sure that'll rid of alot of cows.

but dont take away my hamburger gah dammit

Or people realize that global warming is BS, Paul posted this earlier in the Politics thread:

http://www.dailytech.com/Article.aspx?newsid=13834

Thanks to a rapid rebound in recent months, global sea ice levels now equal those seen 29 years ago, when the year 1979 also drew to a close.

Ice levels had been tracking lower throughout much of 2008, but rapidly recovered in the last quarter. In fact, the rate of increase from September onward is the fastest rate of change on record, either upwards or downwards.

In May, concerns over disappearing sea ice led the U.S. to officially list the polar bear a threatened species, over objections from experts who claimed the animal's numbers were increasing.

I say prove global warming first. Once you can PROVE that cows/cars or whatever are the direct cause, tax away. Until then, stay out of my pockets.

I have yet to believe that cows cause global warming enough to warrant a tax on them.

They used to say that space shuttle launches effected the weather too....

btw, global warming is true but human activity plays a small roll, alot of what global warming theorists say is that co2 and such play major roll, up to 99% but however, they're forgetting another major roll of global warming, water vapor. when water vapor is added to the equaltion, co2 level equals to mere 4%. water vapor is naturally caused.

if we had exploration crews and video equipment 300 years ago...we'd probably see just as many "poor polar bears" struglung to find a solide piece of land to hunt on.

And what happen during 1979 thats happening now? Gas prices and less people driving. I think that shows a direct effect on how much your car has on the globe.
