Couple of new videos from Laguna Seca trackday

Just thought i'd share, was out there on Feb 24th & had the pro video setup on the car, multi cameras, GPS tracking etc. They put the fastest lap from each session up on youtube before they send you the full DVD, so here they are...

Session2 - 1:56

Session 3 - 1:53

Very nice. How much do they charge for all that? Laguna is a very fun track...but I think T-hill edges it out.

What's your setup on the STi? Tires/brakes??

Its $200 for the multi camera package, covers 2 sessions out of the day. Not cheap, but nice to see

As for the car, lots of mods, but running RE01-R;s and carbotech XP8 pads, upgraded fluid & lines, and girodisc 2pc front rotors. Had been working great, but think i outdrove them a bit (poor technique), had some pad smear after session3 that caused brake judder. Working on some brake cooling ducts, if that doesnt help then i'll need XP10's

I've heard a lot of good things about Carbotechs from Miata guys. I've always run HP+ at the track.

Nice to see Subies out on the Track! Good vids.

It's always nice to see it from a different perspective while driving. Even a simple gopro out the window or flip in the dash makes a difference.

But for that price doesn't seem too bad of a deal actually.

I also think that it's a good deal especially if all video editing is also included.

Very nice. And the weather was good too- the two times I have done trackdays at Laguna the clouds opened up early on and the track never fully dried out.

I have been to Laguna twice, I paid $170 approximately both times, if I remember correctly. That price included four to five sessions, a pizza lunch and a few photos. Not bad, but not like the $120 I paid for Thill several years ago. Good time at both places nonetheless.

Pardon my noob question, but what does it take to go run your own car there? Do you just show up on one of the designated days?

You just sign up and then show up. For this particular organization, it looks like they have another Laguna day in April. They'll do a visual inspection of your car, but the only special equipment needed is an approved helmet, long pants and closed toe shoes.

Pretty much what Four vs Two says, except when its really hot out they are not too picky if you want to wear shorts in the beginner groups
They rent helmets for $20 per event, and you can pre-fill your inspection sheet, its pretty basic.

For your car, if you never tracked before, then it wouldn't hurt to get fresh oil (i do a change 1 week before an event), and maybe consider better brake fluid & pads, the stock STI pads can fade even on the street.

Most fun you will have in your Suby huh? I don't know about that, I have a wagon and the back seats fold down.
