it depends on what you do to the car, but seeing as how you're showing stock tire size I wouldnt buy anything expensive. Your car can't really be fixed up enough to be able to utilize the $ spent.

I've never used them, but I've read that:
Michelin® Pilot Sport A/S 205/55R16 Ultra High Performance $149.99
are pretty decent all seasons.
I'd check TireRack for cheaper summer options, if your intent is not to see any snow...

yeah I work for costco if BFGoodrich or Michelin make the tire then we carrie it we just might not stock it. also I think the tires at castco are on rebate or something right now you get $60 cash card back. but I checkout americas tires that where I got mine from they will price match.

I get my tires from Roger Kraus. He gets really close to tirerack's prices, and is my favorite alignment/tire place ever. They set me up with 4x Bridgestone RE-050A's for a great price a while back.
In terms of BFG and Michelin tires Costco often gives the best price on those tires. Some people coming in expecting dirt cheap 30-40 dollar generic non-name brand tires.
We do lower than 55 series tires. It's just that are only able to do OEM Spec sizes recommended by the manufacturer. If you want to run aftermarket size, it must be an OPTIONAL size based what your ORIGINAL size is. Or another option, I'm not sure if every Costco does this, but at my warehouse if you carry in the rims I will put any size tire you want. You just have to put it on your car yourself. I can order pretty much any Michelin or BFG tire in a pretty good selection of sizes.
For WRX, if you're on a bit of a budget BFG Touring TA are a good value. If you can afford to spend a little more Pilot Sports and Exaltos are both very good tires. You probably have to special order them, but as long as you order (4) four by May 18, you can get a $60 costco cash card.

Costco in Foster City carried the stock size for my car when I checked with them - 225/40-18. Personally, I know they are great tires but I do not see the point of Michelin's prices. I have been running Bridgestones for a few years now and I have no complaints.

From that list, I think the KDWs would be a good tire to choose.

pricing strategies. Theres the high price for the brand name, and also people assume high price=high quality. While sometimes there is a correlation, they don't necessarily go hand in hand
IMO costco is not all that cheap at all. Go to some big O they will aways beat that price. From what I heard some costco's refuse to put any tires on ur car if it's not OEM specs.
Tire wise, Michelin are by far the worse brand that I've used. BFG I've only have a sent of 33" on my truck so I can't really say anything about their all season normal tires.

i was gonna buy my tires from costco but they wouldnt want to sell me a 225. i was hella sad. so make sure they'll do it for you. it wasnt really for the price it was for the free insurance.
