cost (for spring) install?

i was originally going to save up for coils.. but that's not happening for at least 6-8 months.. so i'm going with some eibach springs. these are the springs that don't wear my shocks a lot right?
lol.

anyways.. the springs are on sale from world one for like 209 shipped. darn cheap if you ask me. the problem is that installation is really expensive.

anyone know of a good place in richmond, oakland, berkeley that can install the springs for a low price> thanks.

there should be a sticky telling everyone in the bay area to go to mpj/gb for installs.

do people mess up a lot on things like this? i mean does it take a lot of effort and precision?

maybe i could get some normal auto shop to do it.

no its not very hard to install as long as you have the tools. If you end up paying someone to do it, take it to mpj/gb. I would not trust some regular auto shop working on a car they are unfamiliar with.

DIY and save some money. You're going to need it for the alignment afterward.

where do you live btw?

I rented a spring compressor from kragen for $6, but i bought some other stuff i needed at the same time. They charge you a deposit on the tool in case you dont bring it back, like $50. Anyway, when i took the compressor back they didnt look at the reciept and though all the money i had paid was my security deposit, so i got some free wrenches!!!!

I just did my spring install about a week ago, took me 4 extremely laid back and slow paced hours to do. Just with simple hand tools. The hardest part was unbolting the spring hats from the strut. I ended up using a vice grip on a 17mm socket to undo the bolt, while using a allen head to hold the strut piston from spinning. DO NOT GRAB THE STRUT PISTON WITH ANYTHING TO TRY TO HOLD IT!! you will scratch it to hell and it will leak as soon as it goes through a few miles. I guess you could buy a 17mm with a opening so you can get an allen in there, but im cheap

If your kit didnt come with instructions, go to http://www.hotchkistuning.com/bin/in...ions/19406.pdf
