Not sure how much you have left on your car, but if for some reason you can't refinance your auto loan, maybe you can get a personal loan with a lower APR, or heck even a credit card with a lower APR would help.

But like subie OCD said try (if you haven't) just asking your bank if they'll refinance your auto loan, then ask some of the other banks/credit unions (Provident Credit Union, Patelco Credit Union, etc.)

g'luck man!

That's a great rate. Actually about as low if not the lowest there is currently for auto loans.

Whoops, I forgot, the lender I went with was lower than the original quoted by the dealer.

I looked at the paperwork and I have 17% APR not 22%, but it still sucks.

US Bank has a 3.75% APR but I try to stay with local credit unions.

Really? pretty good! Assuming you can use that to get a used car.

When I was at Subaru, 4.65% was the lowest I could get anyone.

Lmao, I was about to say 22% There's no way it's only 600. Unless your loan is for like 10 years.

When I first got my car I was at 12.9%, now I'm at 4.75% 1 1/2 years after. Refinancing is definitely worth it, and I go to a credit union.

My payments aren't 600, that's total expense with insurance and gas costs.

I pay $370 with the 18% apr, I'm going to go to a few credit unions tomorrow.+

I have a few options:

Refinance the STI and retire it only to recreational driving instead of driving it every day because I love it.

Sell the STI and buy an econo lunchbox outright

Trade the STI in for a WRX or a more economical/cheaper model.

That being said, anyone have any experience refinancing a car? I want to find a place that has a lot of lenders, my APR is HORRIBLE, its 22% but that's all I could get due to a big blemish on my credit which should be gone now.
you can refinance with provident credit union they have a deal right now is a 5.4% apr call them and find out what they can do for you, my car is being finaced with them there a really good bank

Holy **** guys... Now I feel like an ******* for getting 0% on my first (and only) car loan.

Paul, hopefully you will find some good deals tomorrow. From what others are saying, it doesn't seem like refinancing isn't that much of a pain.

18% apr is a lot but you're only paying 370. Is your loan term long? Or you must have gotten the car for a good price.

All-in-all I say credit unions are the best.

That's just terrible, a few hundred bucks here and there, I can see. But thousands of dollars on a car? Yeah, not going to get away with that one.

I'd just hold out and try to refinance if I were you. If your credit blemish disappears this year - and doesn't get sold off to another collections agency - your insurance rates are likely to go down as well.

I did a 5 year term, and I put 5000 down, so I only ended up financing 14500. I bought it at a bad time, when the economy was tanking .

My insurance really isn't bad its only 135 for my car, truck and renters insurance.
