Compression straps for a backpack with no straps

Long shot here, but whatever.

I got a backpack that has no compression straps but I need to add something to do the job. I like the backpack and can't budget for a new backpack right now.

Any suggestions?

Do they make just bungees you can buy and rig on? I did this with some old bungees on my luggage when I went to Europe and it worked well. Looked ghetto but I don't care.
