Coilover Testing

Hey all.

I am thinking my next mod will be entry level coilovers of some type. I think for the most part, coilovers are really subjective. I always hear mix reviews between all kind of products.

I was hoping that experiencing the ride of different set-up's will help me make a decision and I was thinking about putting together a chart of some type that would compare different aspects of each model.

Right now, the coilovers I've thought of are the:

Stance
BC
Megan Racing
Helix

If anyone would like to let me ride along, let me know.

TIA.

I really like my entry level coilovers. I got the TEIN Basics. If I was closer I would totally let you take it for a spin. They are a great balance between aggressive handling and road comfort. The price is not too bad either. Maybe let people know how you plan to drive your car and what types of places/surfaces will you be mostly driving on.

I vote for Ground Controls/Koni Sports. Any spring rate you want for no extra price, and the quality of Eibach springs and Koni shocks (plus a lifetime warranty on shocks ain't bad either ). Rebuildable in the U.S. is a huge plus for me as well.

I'd let you ride along, but I won't be up north for a long while.

Sounds good. It is going to take some time to compile a chart, but I kind of want to do a complete job. It'd be a good resource for later on. It'll probably be something like I put up in the suspension section plus notes on how it rides.

im on the HKS Hipermax coilovers if you wanna test em out. Leo, Rau and Smitty took a ride with me on the first install fest a while ago and they said it was comfortable.

Sounds good. I'll probably take up all your offers at some point. Finals this coming week, so, probably after that.

yep yep! It was a pretty good ride.

Kev,
I think there is a good chance I won't pick up my wrench until the next install fest! LOL! But do let me know if you are back in town and I'll swing by if I can.

Anything else you guys think I should try? Mainly looking at entry-coilovers, but would like to see how some of the high-end coilovers run as well.

I had Helix DNAs on my old WRX and liked them alot. More comfortable than other coilovers i have tried and not too expensive.

Probably a little late in the weekend to do this, but if anyone that is going on the Fairfield Drive next week wouldn't letting me experience your suspension set-up, please let me know.

TIA.
