Nope... I would only recommend it to bigger setups, especially those using a FMIC. Anything with a TMIC with a decent size intake would not see any real benefits from going to SD.

then the recommendation is to swap that POS out instead of spending a bunch of money on a SD tune!

my biggest concern with MAP based system on a forced induction motor, compared to NA where intake temps stay more or less consistent, is that the much hotter compressed air adds to the manifold pressure more than the actual mass (not volume) of air. That itself is the biggest advantage of a Mass Air Flow sensor, 1cu/ft of air going in will have the same mass of oxygen no matter how hot or cold it gets (+/-Pressure) after its metered. A MAP cant tell if its seeing the pressure from X volume of air at 100 degrees or Y volume of air at 200 degrees, it all looks the same to the MAP.

Anyhow, Im def not a tuner and Im sure COBB knows what theyre doing, I genuinely do want to know more about this. Ed?

You can always relocate the IAT to ensure the most accurate manifold temps are being monitored

I would definately recommend relocating the IAT either to the manifold or at least the cold side piping for any SD setup. Cobb has IAT corrections built into the system for this purpose.

Thanks

So I have heard nothing but great feedback from everyone on this stuff so far.

We are almost finished with mine. We are hoping to be able to use softer bov spring and changed out the wastegate springs as well.

You'll love it once it's tuned well. Very consistent and responsive and fixes all the annoying issues associated with FMIC setups.
