After about 10 months dealing with the J-J-J-J-Judder from the clutch off idle, I finally had it repaired under warranty last Tuesday. Dropped the car off Monday night at Downtown Subaru in Oakland, had it back Tuesday @ 6:30pm. What a difference!!! The clutch take up is much more positive feeling, no chatter and it doesn't feel weak and "fuzzy" when engaging like the orig did.
Also had the 30K service done. I have to say that the Downtown dealer in Oakland has always treated me well, and again they did everything I asked them to, no problems. John Rowe was my service writer, a really helpful and on-the-ball guy. I asked for my old parts back, and there they were, in my trunk.
After some of the dealer nightmares I have read about and experienced, it was good to have no issues.
Good luck to you all,

Yeah, I had my front struts replaced on warranty and they said they have to send the old ones back to Subaru. It makes sense, there has to be some control over this or else shops would be making double money through warranty and rebuild-sales...

It all depends on whether or not Subaru wants the old clutches back or not because my dealership has about 10warranty clutches and so far Subaru does not want them back.

I wish I could send my MacPherson struts back to Subaru, so they could send me the complete multi-link kit, to allow me to better compete with the EVO!

i thought our struts weren't macpherson. but yeah, i'd take the links for shizz.
and i can definitely second jim's thoughts about the new clutch and flywheel. when you hear "heavier flywheel" you automatically think it's terrible. i know i did. but the setup in my car right now is light years better than stock. this is the way the car should have come stock. it is SO much smoother to drive on a say-to-day basis, it's not even funny. either way, don't be afraid to get it. you'll be glad you did.
