I think it lives up to it's hype.

at the end of the movie there is a flashback of Beth and Rob on a ferris wheel looking towards the ocean, look closely near boat on the top right...

oh and don't bother staying through the credits, unless you like watching it. but there is some mumble jumble at the end, although it's hard to make out what the person is saying.

wha? I work hard to get my name on the big screen! . . . . other than that watching the credits on other movies isn't always something I gotta see.

sorry, I didn't mean it like that. I meant to say, if you plan on staying for the credits to wait for something cool to happen, then you'll be out of luck. But mad props to everyone who worked on Cloverfield (especially you adizon), it was something different, but totally worth watching.

I actually liked the fact that it was shoot in blair witch mode, it gave me the feeling how the characters felt, as if I was there, unlike always watching movies as a third person type deal.

Yeah , it seems to work OK especially since we as a society are so accustomed to this reality TV/ you tube generation. It's like a culmination of reality tv/ meets classic monster movie with MTV lookin actors.

thanks for the props.

Alright, heres what I thought:

I had NO intention of seeing this movie prior to a few days ago. I read around, didn't really get on the hype. I was turned off that it was all shot handy camera. But I said "Aslong as its entertaining and lets me sleep better before I go on graveyard shifts."

They could have done a lot more with this film. Thats about how I can sum it up. Yea, the CG was pretty good. The handy cam hurt my head a bit, but definitely was the only way this movie could be captured. I was entertained, and it played with my emotions a bit. I'm glad I went out and saw it. As far as a rating goes, I say it was ****. As far as living up to the MAD internet hype. Thats for you to decide. I'll chime in further on my opinion as more people see it. For the record, I loved the ending.

So you're at Tippett? I went to the crew screening at Bay Street last night (used to work there) and I quite enjoyed it. Genre flick and all, but nicely done. And Tippett always was good at character animation.
