Cleaning your glass windshield/windows...?

I have these... dry stains on my windshield, I sprayed it with windex, etc and try to wipe it off but it just never seems to get it totally spotless, as a matter of fact now my whole front windshield looks like that.

When I wash my car I scrub it and dry the windows before the sun gets to it and it still seems like its there.. not totally clear.

For example, if I'm driving at night (on a clear night) and there is a light ahead, I can still see the stains on the windshield. I don't really have it on the side windows of the car, and I don't see it on my back window either.

What do you guys use to get a spotless window?

I drive down Market Street. You won't believe what the hobos these days can do with an old newspaper and their spray bottle.

^^^ LOL

but, all kidding aside, try using old newspaper wadded up to dry your windows. I know it sounds crazy but it works well, and leaves no streaks.

For the spots you might have to buff them out if they wont come up. Look for a glass buffer kit at the auto parts store, you could also clay bar the window and that will lift them too. Lastly, ive successfully used "silly putty" to lift spots on paint and windows in places I could not use another product (corners, cracks)

get a bottle of (Adam's Polishes - Swirl & Haze Remover 16oz CD-005 $19.95) and give it a good buff.

I've done an evo with oil marks covering ALL of his windows and they have been there for 1.5 years. Swirl * Haze took care of it.

Not to threadjack, but the windshield of the used impreza I bought has what looks like sand/glitter sprinkled on it. Not realy, of course, but that's what it looks like when the sun shines through it - really tiny, sparkly dots.

Would the stuff you mentioned help, or is it likely to be unfixable?

Sounds like chips.

If you can catch it with your finger nail, it's too far gone.

sounds like chips. my old windshield was like that. the windshields suck. You get these super small fine chips ALL over.
