I think the chopped top looks kinda weird...maybe its the big black border around the windshield also...I'd have to see a full side view.

 

There's also a widening of the fender flares, bringing to overall width to 71 inches, up from just over 68 inches. It's a milder flare job than on the Conebasher. I wonder if they did the bodywork in metal? Car and Driver Magazine reported that this car was created in-house at Fuji Industries by their "now-defunct bus division".

What exactly is chop? I'm confused!!

 

The roofline was lowered, from an in car shot the windshield is basically a rectangular slit, you can't see crap out of it.

 

this mod looks good on 30s and 40s (and sometimes 50s) hotrods. not subarus.

i think you'd have to be on crack to do that to a perfectly good STi. anyone see SubyDude's Neon Video? "don't mix modding with drugs" mmkay!!

but then again I like hot rods and all that chopping/channeling custom stuff...

speaking of which, I would love to do that to an ElCamino like in that levi's commercial.

 

I think when I read about that car in "car and driver" they said that the roof was chopped 4 inches and the fenders we out 3/4 of an inch each that gave it the wide and low agressive look, however Im not to sure about the colors. either way that kicks ***.

well it does say subaru backwards however when this photo was taken some how it was flipped u know how that happens with the negatives go look at car and driver and youll know what im saying it actually says subaru... i think

 

Oh, yeah... you're right! Look at the Subaru six stars on the hood. What's weird is that this is a left-hand drive vehicle in Japan!

The picture isn't flipped. The subaru (urabus) logo on the hood is a reflection silly.

Note: Its not the roof choping thats expensive, thats the easy part. Its the custom glass that costs quite a bit
