it's a very smart power supply
http://store.mp3car.com/M2_ATX_160W_..._p/pwr-015.htm
While in deep sleep mode, M2-ATX constantly monitors your car battery voltage levels, preventing deep discharge situations by automatically shutting down (using a built-in shutdown controller) until battery levels reach safe levels again. No more dead car batteries, no more computer resets during engine cranks, along with multiple timing schemes, small formfactor and very competitive price makes the M2-ATX the premier solution for dc-dc ATX vehicle / car PC power supply solutions.

Now all you need is a turbo to go with that boost gauge and you're SET!

Looks killer man, good work and mucho props.

I wanna check it out if you ever decide to come out and play... You're such a recluse! Lets go to Kinders again!

well, I won't be using the boost guage on the monitor

I'm not being too recluse, just somewhat busy the last few weeks with training events, the Tracy search, and putting together the carputer. Plus I'm helping to do the physical abilities testing/interviews of the new recruits this past week
I've been out and about a few times, you just gotta know how to get in touch with me, which is mainly email/PM's. Most people see what's going on with me via my facebook.
Won't be at weekly meets very much for the next few months due to the new recruit training.

I might be at my treasure island meet depending on my health. and I'll be at MVKK on the 7th after our general meeting.

Dang that is pretty sick!!!

On a semi-revalent subject, the other day I was using my AVIC D3 and started thinking about how awesome it would be to have a car stereo that was an iphone...a glass double din that had an iphone interface and access to internet (like google sat. view you have), music, vids, the whole shabang. I'm sure Apple could make a killing just selling a basic glass double stereos with a cable to hook up your iphone. Or it would flop

wow that is sick... how are you connecting your iphone to the computer? Any mounts?

I was considering getting a mount for my iphone as a GPS, but this is just... amazing!

wireless tether

I keep my phone in my belt case. when the carputer turns on it connects to the adhoc, and the iphone also connects to it automatically.

Man, I hope you get to park your car in a garage!

If not, I'd suggest tinting your windows (even the fronts) as it is much harder to see inside your car at night... Whats the worst that can happen? Cops give you a ticket for it? I doubt it, especially in your sleeper. I have full tint and have yet to be bothered.

it's in a garage

there is nothing to see in my car except the screen. plus, i had an avic d3 which has a 6.1" screen. this one is just less than an inch bigger.

and even if for some reason somebody breaks into my car, the only thing they will get is the screen, which is why i'm mounting the carputer and amp in the trunk, instead of building the carputer behind the screen (like a normal double din deck).

normally if i go somewhere questionable, i put my jacket on the dash covering the screen

Yeah, smart install, but it would still suck to lose a screen. Good thing you have a garage!
