A bit like all them ***** running around screaming about their new hardcore JDM as fekk carbon fiber hoods/bumpers/******/fenders/doors. "It's all the rage in Japan, and it gets peoples attention!" Yeah... so do 9 inch tipped fartcan mufflers, thankfully most people got over that.
For the record, Blink182 DID sell out, but they sucked pretty hard for a long time before that. Cheshire Cat had a few decent songs but it was all crap after that.

Drifting sucks. It's cool to watch for about 2 mins... then gets old and boring.
I also think it is downright retarded.
So you know how to get back at those so-called "drifters"? Start talking to them about technique, only in do it Japanese
Drifting is not nearly as hard as all these kids here make it out to be. I ain't gonna argue with no one about it either, it just isnt that impressive. Sure it may be challenging, but watch 2 minutes of WRC - and it becomes pretty apparent that these hardcore drifters are the equivalent to dudes in trans ams with mullets doing donuts. 10 years from now i'll look back and laugh at how idiotic the drifter scene is. Its like the mini-truck faze of the early 90's.

Dammit sighborg, you really like picking fights on the board huh?!
Many fundamental drifting techniques have Japanese names, and if you know your 2 bits about real drifting, you'd know these phrases
Also, drifting's been around since the late '70s, possibly even longer than you. It may just be "trend" or "the newest craze" here in the States, but it does indeed have a storied history populated by such legendary cars as the Nissan KCPG-10 Skyline GT-R, Isuzu Bellet, "Daruma" Celica, and more! Comparing it to rallying would be like comparing F-1 to Grand Touring -- apples to oranges
You should learn to mellow out, be less extreme in your statements

It sure seems many people here only the know the "D-1 Showoff", "Initial D" side of drifting, as opposed to its history and true nature.
Sad....
Sad....
Honestly I don't know anything about "D1 Showoff" or "Initial D". My understanding is that drifting is an event where people intentionally hang the tail out to look cool. I'm sure it's fun, but I'm more into racing.

Oh, and i type the way i talk. When reading my posts i guess you could take it like i am on a mountain top declaring my opinions. "AND THIS BE THE TRUTH!!!!!". But really, if you could hear me talk you would see that i don't have much conviction in the crap that spew out - especially when its just about cars. (unless its about styling, then i'll chew your ear off tyson style).
So, i appologize for sounding all up in your grill, cause i aint.
Unless of course you get all mystical about dudes burning out in cars again. sorry, thems the rules.

ahhh...drift.
I am not into the whole drift scene...I don't have drift video and don't go to D1 events but I do enjoy watching someone with skill do it right.
Personally I love doing it. But I don't do it and think I'm all cool and go shout from the mountain tops that I can drift...cause face it...I have a WRX wagon..not the best drift car and before that I had a civic.....worse than the wagon.
But I can do it..have done it and do do it on occassion just for fun.
Just like when I had my truck I did donuts and burn out and reverse loops...etc...etc.....etc...I like to get loose. I like throwing my wrx in the snow sideways backwards..etc...in the mud...whatever.
But am I drifter..hell no. I just grew up driving dune buggies and quads...I like being side ways....
this whole drift phenom might have something to do with the large amount of japanese living in the bay and the whole ricer crowd growing into the jdm crowd growing into the drift crowd...but who really cares.
my only beef is that kids think they can do it and they just got their lisense and they go around smashing through mountain roads wrecking into joe dad driving home from work. Or Joe mamma strolling back from the grocery store or her high paying sugar mamma job. (sexist..yeah so shoot me..lol)
So just like anything...kids are kids..idiots are idiots....let em have their fun..long as they don't put everyone around them at risk.
