Cheapest shop to get gauges installed in the bay?

I have defi gauges that need to be installed. I called Gruppe-S and they said $300 for all three. I think that this is a little steep. What do you guys think? Is that a fair price? It may be but I am not familiar w/ gauge prices.

Thanks

which gauges are you looking to get installed? the going rate is about a 100 bucks a gauge... most places will charge more for EGT since it has to be tap and welded.

For those 3, 300 is reasonable. The EGT is the hard one, the other 2 you can do yourself.

I have done my own EGT, oil pressure, oil temp, and boost gauges. It took me half of a day to get them in (I don't remember exact times), but it was worth the effort.

I used a sandwitch adapter for the oil stuff. That was super easy. I also called up a machine shop, explained that I wanted a manifold tapped, and had them do it. It took me 15 minutes to get the manifold off the car (in their lot, they were cool with it), took them 15 minutes to drill, and another 20 minutes to reinstall the manifold. That cost me $35.

Boost is the easiest of all 3. You can do that one yourself without much problem.

If you've never wired anything, pay people for oil changes, or have extra cash, then you should pay someone to do it. $300 isn't unfair.

boost is cake, oil is a little harder but still totally do-able with 8"+socket extention, EGT Tap is the one that most would go to a shop for. there is a how to at scoobymods that shows how to do it if you have the tools to drill and tap(tap die and corded power drill I think is all?).
