Cheap power mods

I was looking at either a Perrin pulley set, Perrin intercooler hose, or Perrin Turbo Inlet Hose. My limit is about $300 for now but $100 is going toward a rear sway bar. Out of these three mods, which one do you think would be best for some power gain? wat else would you recommend i get with the $200 i have? thanks

the pulley's a good way to gain a few effective hp.

Isn't the K&N typhoon intake like $275? That's close to your budget... That thing shows good numbers and doesn't trip CEL's....least as far as I've seen.

Anyone put one on a WRX? I know kevin's got one on his STI and likes it.

I thought air intakes could cause worse performance for our WRX cars? Or am I thinking Cold air intake?

Ya, they do, better off with the stock airbox that doesn't suck in hot air

the WRX one sucks, its carb legal so it has a tiny filter.

Just get the uppipe, you won't regret it. It's the best bang for your buck, IMO

youll get more power with the up pipe then with the down pipe.

but if you get both theyre both good on performance and youll defintely notice the difference.

if you're getting the up pipe and downpipe combo you might want to consider the ones with high flow cat to abide the laws but I don't know if there's sust thing as up pipe with high flow cat?

I've heard the STI one fits. I think that's what Adam did...and showed good gains and no CEL's.

as for intakes..most intakes do mess with performance because they throw CEL because they don't take into account the MAF and air flow changes and what not. The K&N one does do that.

Bummer that the WRX model one sucks. been wondering about that.

Up/down pipes would show the largest gains for your money. in that price range.

out of the mods you put down...Pulleys or inlet hose.

you could get a used up/down pipe for 300 i bet..if not less. just food for thought. shoot you could almost get tuning that is the best bang for the buck performance out there by far. I picked up a whole bunch of more driveable power that way out of a stock car..save for tuning.if you dont already have it. The other great thing is im still totally legal.
