Cheap furniture? (just moved here)

Just got to San Rafael from NY and need to furnish a 1 br on the cheap. Aside from ikea and craigslist, any really good deals to be had on bedroom / living room furniture that I should know about? Don't mind putting stuff together either. Also looking for a queen bed. I'd like to stay within Marin if I could. Thanks!

i found a spool for some cable that will make a nice table and you can go to home depot for cinder blocks and 2x4s to make a stand

edit: this was for my college days

Not that cheap, but thanks

By "found" do you mean you recently upgraded to a bigger spool and don't need this one anymore?

Ah yeah I gotcha. I'm not exactly broke, I just don't want to spend a lot because I don't know how long I'm gonna be at this place and don't want to have expensive stuff to move when I find a more permanent place.

Just hit up the store. They don't advertise sales on the site.

actually when you price out the decent looking ikea stuff it's almost the same as the bigger name stores.

when I got my couch at macys i got it for 700 bucks no tax picked up. That I thought was a good deal. Check out Macys furniture for couches and maybe beds.

another place is www.jenniferconvertibles.com
Cheap stuff too but it's kinda a hit or miss. Make sure you sit on the stuff and what not.

Remember kids, real good furniture cost alot more then ikea's cardboard world.

Yeah that scandinavian designs place is a little pricey. I know real furniture costs money, and I've got no problem paying for quality. But for now, I just need cheap stuff. Not expecting it to last a lifetime. And thanks. I just got here last friday but my car only got here today, so I've been pretty housebound the past week. I went out and got it washed before, then switched maps for 91 octane (UGH!) now I gotta do some driving around for data logging so I figured I'd hit up some furniture stores.
