most of the time if you say the phone was stolen, you they make you go the local police department and file a report before they give you a replacement... it's a pain in the ***. it would probably be better to use the excuse that you lost it / dropped it somewhere instead of saying someone stole it so you wouldn't need to fill out a police report.

Daredevil, do you think someone found your phone and turned it in? I think most people would do that if they saw one lying in the snow. If the resort doesn't have it yet, you might leave another phone number (obviously not your cell number) for them to reach you.

uhm...the police report isn't all that bad. just walk into a local police station, write one up, they make a copy and you're set to go. but of course you can always say you just lost it and make things in life easier.

ummm...best buy won't cover a stolen or lost phone

unless they changed their policy since I worked there

the replacement plan is only if it stops working, and you have to bring them the phone and all the accessories in order to get a replacment

sorry bro...lost phone = you need to buy a new one

unless you have homeowner's insurance on it or something

i won't tell them its missing yet... and see if i can get insureded and see if they replace phones easily, cause if they do ill sign up for that
then call them back and be like "yea my phones stolen" and they replace it

About the Cingular thing. They're plan covers theft. My friend has done it before with his Sony Ericsson phone. He got the same one and sold his old one to his other friend. It was easy. He removed his sim chip and gave me the phone and chip to hold on too. I don't know exactly what he did, but I'm sure all he did was probably fill out some papers, and was on his way with home with a new phone of the same model, and some cash that he made form the deal that he made that day. I'm not encouraging that you guyz do some schemin', but times are tough and people need to find a way to make a buck....

But yeah, to Daredevil, that coverage plan does cover theft.
